Ivor Cummins talk

Our next meeting is on Monday 5th February at Hotel Rendezvous in Skipton at 7.00pm. Please come along to discuss Ivor’s presentation, and to find out more about how a low carb diet can help your health and well-being.

On 26th-27th January, Low Carb Skipton hosted renowned expert in nutrition and health Ivor Cummins, for a series of talks addressing the growing concerns about public health, particularly the rise in Type 2 Diabetes, obesity, and Alzheimer’s Disease. The video above shows  the whole of Saturday morning’s presentation.

Ivor’s presentation on: “What you really need to know about Healthy Eating” was very well received, both at the Elsworth Mill, Skipton on Friday evening, and at Hotel Rendezvous the morning after.

Cummins delved into the deteriorating trends in life expectancy and the shortcomings of current public health policies and dietary guidelines. His talks will highlight the significant increase in chronic diseases, and how modern diets, rich in sugar, refined carbohydrates, and omega-6 polyunsaturated fatty acids like linoleic acid, contribute to these health issues. Cummins argues that official health recommendations, which often emphasize carbohydrate-based diets and seed oils, are misguided and contribute to poor nutrition.

Ivor Cummins, with a background in Biochemical Engineering and a career in complex problem-solving, has dedicated himself since 2012 to researching the root causes of chronic diseases like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and obesity. Recognized as a global authority on nutrition and health, Cummins’ research focuses on key nutritional and lifestyle interventions for optimal health and productivity. His extensive knowledge comes from collaborations with leading experts worldwide and detailed interviews available on his website. His insights are invaluable for those seeking authoritative information on devising diets aligned with good health.
